Three Tips for Range Safety 2

Firing guns at the range can be an exhilarating and enjoyable experience. This is a safe and controlled environment, which will allow you to use firearms to your heart’s content. While it is a safe environment, there are several gun safety tips you should keep in mind. To learn more about these gun safety tips, read on.

Ensure the Gun Isn’t Loaded Until You’re Ready

Rule number one in gun safety is, of course, to ensure the guy is not loaded until it’s ready. Obviously, you should not transport the gun when it’s loaded. This may actually be illegal in some jurisdictions. If you are getting your guns at the range, you do not need to worry about this. However, you should still not know the gun until you are actually ready to fire. This will reduce the likelihood of anything unfortunate happening. When you’re ready to fire, load up the gun and have fun. Once you’re done firing, remember to unload the gun before you store it.

Don’t Put Your Finger On the Trigger Until You’re Ready to Fire

You should not put your finger on the trigger until it’s time to fire. Even when you have the gun grasped in your hands, don’t put your finger on the trigger until it is actually pointed at the target. Once you are done firing, take your finger off the trigger before you put the gun down. The most important thing to remember when you’re using firearms is safety. Once you have this taken care of, you can enjoy shooting guns responsibly. Not putting your finger on the trigger until you’re ready to fire is an important part of responsible gun use.

Listen to the Rangemaster’s Instructions

If you have never been to a Las Vegas outdoor gun range before, you may not be familiar with the rangemaster. The rangemaster is the person in charge of the safety for the range. They will let you know, usually over a PA system, when it is okay to begin firing and when you must stop firing. You have to stop firing when the range master says, or you will be kicked out of the range. Once the rangemaster declares a temporary halt to firearm usage, other employees of the range will inspect everything and make sure everybody is being safe and responsible with their firearms.
